Pleasant Valley Fire
Department (PVFD) is a 100% volunteer organization that provides fire
protection and rescue services to the residents of Northern Lancaster
County in South Carolina. PVFD was organized in 1956 and has been
proudly serving our community since that time.
PVFD covers approximately
16.6 square miles and extends from Possum Hollow Road on U.S. Hwy 521 to
the North Carolina State line and on U.S. Hwy 160 to the York county
line.
Our services include:

Fire suppression

Medical first
responder
-
Extrication (this
includes cars, trucks, school busses, tractor trailers, industrial
equipment, and farm equipment)

Limited water rescue
-
Limited low and high
angle rescue
-
Air monitoring for
dangerous gasses (Carbon Monoxide, etc)
-
Limited Hazardous
Materials mitigation.
PVFD maintains 5 pieces
of apparatus in it’s fleet. The department also enlists the services of
other fire and rescue organizations such as Indian Land, Fort Mill,
Charlotte, Pineville and Wesley Chapel Fire Departments as well as Fort
Mill Rescue and Indian Land Rescue.
PVFD has 24
members
certified through the South Carolina Fire Academy. Department
membership is
open to any person that has a willingness to help the community and is
18 years of age or older.
Weekly meetings
/ training sessions are held every Monday night at 7:30 pm at the
station located at 315 Fort Mill Hwy. Funding for our organization
is provided through a property based fee and donations from the community.
